Nick trained as a physiotherapist in Dunedin, graduating in 1992. He then completed a BSc, at Auckland University, winning a senior prize in physiology.

A post-graduate diploma in manipulation was successfully completed in 1996. Since this time Nick has developed interests in upper limb, neck and upper back pain.

Nick has been involved with the Otago Exercise Programme since 2005. He has attended conferences and spoken at workshops on the topic of ‘elderly falls prevention’.

Work

Nick has over 15 years experience in the management of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Nick has worked in top Sports Medicine multidisciplinary clinics overseas. The London clinics serviced elite sports people, city workers and corporate customers. Working in this environment was stimulating and great results were achieved. Working with elderly clients over the last 15 years has influenced the delivery model that Nick has established with the OEP.

Business

Nick started business with a thriving physiotherapy practice in Wanganui between 1997 and 2000. In 2003 he returned from overseas and started Willis Street Physiotherapy Limited. Both physiotherapy businesses have provided great challenges and rewards. In 2008 Nick formed a new company, Handspring Limited, which delivers ‘The Otago Exercise Programme’ in the Lower North Island.

Social

Nick lives in central Wellington with his wife, and two sons. He enjoys walking, running, tramping, reading and is particularly keen on playing football (soccer). He still dreams of making it big on the football field.
